或huò问wèn禘dì之zhī说shuō。子zǐ曰yuē，不bù知zhī也yě，知zhī其qí说shuō者zhě，之zhī于yú天tiān下xià也yě，其qí如rú示shì诸zhū斯sī乎hū。指zhǐ其qí掌zhǎng。

有人请教禘祭的道理。孔子说：我不知道。真能懂得禘祭道理的人，治理天下就会像把东西摆在这里一样容易吧！说着，指了指自己的手掌。

James Legge Translation

Some one asked the meaning of the great sacrifice. The Master said, "I do not know. He who knew its meaning would find it as easy to govern the kingdom as to look on this;—pointing to his palm.
