子张问怎样才算善人。孔子说：善人不踩着前人的脚印走，但学问道德也难以达到高深的境界。

Tsze-chang asked what were the characteristics of the good man. The Master said, "He does not tread in the footsteps of others, but moreover, he does not enter the chamber of the sage."
